When I was young, English was just one of the core subject that I should study hard. I had never motivated until I traveled Cambodia. In Cambodia one man who managed kind of youth hostel asked me " Where are you from? Aha!! Korea! South or North? Ha! You are from South Korea. And can you explain to me why your country are divided into South and North?" Still it is a really hard question even if I speak in korea, and how I explain that in English?
Before this I think if I can ask the price and directions that's enought. But it was not enough. I needed more English ability. That event motivate me to study English.
How about you?

When English was adopted as a subject, some of young teachers should've joined into an English training program in 1997. It was a good opportunity for me because I could've understood what the native speaker teachers said. Since then, I have been studying English with a great fun.
ReplyDeleteIn my case, I hated English as a subjec in my schoolhood. Of course, I'm not good at english.
ReplyDeleteBut I realized that I was so poor of speaking english compared with my friends and it embarrassed me. Then I started learning english. Still now my friends always stimulate me for using english.
I want to respond naturally to my studesnts.
ReplyDeleteIn the school, when a student speak something, our school's native teacher responds to the student very naturally.
As an english speaker I want to be a role model to my students.
